The biggest problem by far in the workplace is establishing a culture where employees can excel both vocationally and emotionally. Society puts such an emphasis on the results and almost completely ignores the social and emotional wellness of their employees.
The good news is we are starting to realize it. During Josh’s time on staff at the Harvard Innovation Labs he worked with young startups to start with a culture that puts people first. As a result, top talent wants to work for the company, employee engagement increases and employees can find true happiness at work.
Josh Drean is Director of Culture and Engagement at Harvard Innovation Labs. His research identifies culture trends in high-growth startups who are reimagining the employee experience and develops replicable strategies for large companies.
His work has been featured in several publications, including Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Bostinno, and he has made appearances on The Today Show, NBC, and FOX Business.
Josh speaks internationally on 50+ stages a year sharing strategies and actionable insights to help large organizations innovate with more agility.
Josh is co-founder of Forgeant, an Employee Experience Management System (EMS) that empowers managers to design a better employee experience. Forgeant was incubated out of the Harvard Innovation Labs and was voted top 10 startups to watch in 2020
When Josh is not on the road, he’s either sailing the Boston Harbor or spending time with his wife and two kids.
Josh earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from BYU and his masters degree at Harvard University, where he serves on staff at the Harvard Innovation Labs.
